The 2016 Ford Focus RS just upped its game. The engineers at Ford obviously have a thing for horsepower. This was apparent when they recently announced that the final output for the 2016 Ford Focus RS has climbed to a staggering 350 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.
When the Focus RS is released, it will be the fastest production Focus available in the world. In order to achieve that incredible performance, 93 octane fuel will be required. The Focus RS relies on their turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost engine with overboost technology to produce those high horsepower numbers.
The 2016 Focus RS features All-Wheel drive with Dynamic Torque Vectoring which vasty improves handling by reducing understeer and increasing traction. This allows the Focus RS to achieve a high level of handling performance and cornering speed.
With the announcement of the increased horsepower levels, Ford is taking a direct challenge to the competition which includes the likes of the Subaru WRX STI and Volkswagen Golf R. The 2016 Ford Focus RS is undoubtedly going to be a serious force to be reckoned with.
